Week 61 | After Opposition Comes Miracles

Hello to all who read this blog! I hope y’all had a good week! This week not gonna lie was a rough start but ended great! I’m so grateful for that!

At the beginning of the week we had exchanges with the sisters in Augusta and that was fun! After district meeting we had to go clean out the car that I crashed the week before. I hadn’t seen the car since the accident happened. When I saw the car and sat in the front seat again I had a flashback of what happened and I honestly kind of ” shut down” cause it scared me so bad!! My poor companion thought I was so mad but I was just in shock so that was a good way to start off an exchange ended up being so good! I loved being with Sister Petersen! We just sang hymns all day and did fun harmonies! I need to get this girl to sing in church with me!

We then had MLC this week and that was a great spiritual experiences! We learned lots and it was so fun to see everyone ESPECIALLY SISTER CURRAN! IM SO SAD WE DIDNT GET A PICTURE BUT MY HEART BURSTED WITH JOY WHEN I SAW HER. ❤

Te’Andra and her boys are ready to be baptized this Saturday. We are going lessons 4 and 5 with a member this week and we are so excited. As I was going over the BIQS ( Baptismal interview questions ) with her this week she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, ” I have been burden down with so many things in my life and I am so excited to feel free of them when I am baptized. ” As I looked at her I saw a mother who is tired, full of love for her children, wants to change her life, and who is a beautiful daughter of our Heavenly Father. I feel so blessed for the relationship I have built with Te’Andra. She is an amazing woman and I just love her so much. The baptism on Saturday will be beautiful as her and two of her oldest sons get baptized with her.

We had a surprise at church this week! Some elders were gonna have us meet one of their investigators Delora before Sunday but it didn’t work out. On Sunday morning we got a text message from her saying she was coming to join us! Delora and her son, Damarai came and loved it. She stayed all three hours. Bore her testimony in sacrament meeting, relief society, and told everyone it was her first time but that she felt she had found her new church home. Delora was definitely a miracle from our Heavenly Father and I’m so grateful to be here in Kansas witnessing all these wonderful miracles! We are excited to teach her and help her come closer to Christ.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I love you all! This scripture will be in my heart all week and I pray you all will remember it as well! Mosiah 3:19, “  For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his Father”

May we all come unto Christ by yielding ( following ) to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Week 60 | Crazy Weather, A Car Accident, And Miracles, OH MY!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week! This week has been full of crazy weather, a car accident, walking lots, and miracles. ( I am so sorry this letter is so long… forgive me )

On Wednesday I got my new amazing companion Sister Setoki! Oh my word how I love her. She is fantastic and it’s the best serving with her. We have lots of fun together everyday and see lots of miracles all because the Lord is with us.

Thursday was an interesting day…. so we started off  by doing Weekly Planning, then we went and visited Nikki Reed! We read the Book of Mormon with her and she had planned to come to church with us yesterday but didn’t end up making it! It was a great lesson. On our way back we got in a car accident. I was driving going about 40 mph and I looked at Sister Setoki for what I felt was a quick second and before I knew it we had rear ended the car in front us. The air bags deployed. All is well. The people I hit were not injured and were very sweet. We are totally gonna go visit them as soon as we can! Our bodies are sore but we are so grateful that we are okay and came out of that accident with a few bruises and scratches. In the blessing I received from President McCuistion he said there were angels with us in that accident and I know that is so true! I’m grateful we were so protected! So we don’t have a car right now so we are walking everywhere so it is fun stuff!

We went over to Te’Andra’s ( she is the single mother with six children ) house the day after the accident and had an incredible experience. The night before Sister Setoki and I read Alma 7 before we went to bed and received a strong prompting to read this with her the next day! As we read this chapter with her the Spirit was so strong. She read verses 11-15 which say, ” 11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. 12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. 13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me. 14 Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness. 15 Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism. ” After reading those verses we invited her to be baptized by someone holding the priesthood power of God on August 12th and she said yes! After that we taught her the commandments and talked more about the things God wants us to do before we are baptized! Te’Andra and her children have truly been prepared by the Lord. THEN THEN! The next day we went back and we showed her kids a video of Jesus Christ being baptized and her eight year old son, KJ looked at us and said, ” I want to be baptized “  we asked him why he wanted to be baptized and he said, ” I want to live with God again and be clean from my sins ” MY HEART! My eyes were filled with tears. It was such a tender moment. Oh my goodness. What a miracle that was. The Spirit is the TRUE and the GREATEST teacher. Te’Andra and all her kids came with us to church. They were all so good during sacrament meeting because my wonderful mother sent them coloring books and cool toys! KJ was so reverent while the sacrament was being passed and it just warmed my heart.

Yesterday morning we received a call from the Topeka Zone Leaders telling us one of their investigators had moved to our area and wanted to come to church with us! We got so excited and got her number and called her! Her name is Kelly and her boyfriend ‘s name is Dennis and they both came to church yesterday with us. They could only stay for sacrament but they loved it. We texted her later and set up a church tour for today at 6pm! Kelly is so sweet and some of her family was baptized in Topeka so she is excited to learn more and we feel honored to be able to teach Kelly and Dennis!

As the month of July comes to a close I was able to finish studying the Book of Matthew in the Bible. I had the wonderful opportunity to come closer to my Savior as I read about Him, His Teachings, His Sacrifice, His love, and His Life. Yesterday I read Matthew chapter 28 which is all about Christ’s Resurrection. It was perfect to read this on the sabbath day right after being able to partake of the sacrament. I was reading in the institute manual and came across this quote by Jospeh B. Wirthlin ( a member of the quorum of the twelve apostles back in the day ), ” I think of how dark that Friday was when Christ was lifted up on the cross… I think that of all the days since the beginning of this world’s history, that Friday was the darkest. But the doom of that day did not endure. The despair did not linger because on Sunday, the resurrected Lord burst the bonds of death. He ascended from the grave and appeared gloriously triumphant as the Savior of all mankind… Each of us will have our own Fridays–those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays. But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death–Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come.” I would just like to add my testimony as a disciple of Jesus Christ that we all have had many of our own Friday’s where hope didn’t seem possible and faith was absent but Because of Jesus Christ we can have hope and faith to know He walked a lonely path so we don’t have to. He conquered all and fulfilled the Law of Moses and made the greatest the sacrifice. Death has no sting, the grave no victory. Christ’s Atonement made it possible so we all may live again with our Loving Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ is our Savior, Redeemer, and our Elder Brother and my heart is so full of gratitude for Him and this precious opportunity he has given me to be in Kansas with Him and see not only other precious people change but myself change through his Atonement and his Gospel. I know this Gospel is true and no matter how far from God we may feel… we are never alone. There is one person who can truly say they know EXACTLY how we are feeling that is our Savior, Jesus Christ and I leave this testimony with you in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Have a good week everyone! I love you all!

Week 59 | The Best 126 Days Of My Mission

Hello! I hope and pray everyone had a great week! This week was good and went by crazy fast. I can’t believe how fast time is going. I’m so grateful for my mission! I have lots of pictures this week 🙂 This week we went on an exchange and it was the last one of the transfer and now we get to start the nine exchanges all over again in the next two weeks. It’s crazy but so good because we learn so much from all the sisters!

We had a couple lessons with T’Andra this week and she is doing well! She couldn’t make it to church this week but her two older sons came with us and LOVED IT! We are so grateful they came. We are going to see them later this week and teach her and the kids the Gospel of Jesus Christ and talk to them about baptism.

We also have been teaching a woman named Margaret and she is awesome! She has a friend in another ward and he has talked to her about the Gospel and she has watched the Restoration movie and loved it! We went over this week and taught her the Restoration and she is praying to know if it is true, she enjoyed church a lot and we are so grateful that she came.

Another one of our investigators Nikki surprised us at church! Nikki has lots of friends in the ward and they have been inviting her to come! Nikki has met with missionaries on and off for a long time and she attends lots of different churches throughout the week so sometimes it is hard to catch her to have a lesson but when she came to church on Sunday the Spirit prompted me that we should go and visit her this week to see how she is doing.

All these miracles this week came from the Lord. He is a miracle worker and is with us everyday. I know I say that often but it is so true. He is laboring in this vineyard with us and I couldn’t be more grateful to have this sacred opportunity.

Sister Curran and I found out that our dream team is breaking up this week. These past 126 days have been the best. We have seen each other at our highest and lowest points. She has taught me important principles daily and has changed my life for good. Man how much I love this girl. I will miss her everyday. Words can not express how sad I am for her to be leaving. When we found out I kept singing ” God be with you till we meet again ” hahaha but she is going to the best place….TOPEKA! And she will be a Sister Training Leader up there and I am so excited for her. I am grateful for email and the meetings we will see each other at! I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I will always remember those moments. She is one of my best friends and always will be.  Thank you Sister Curran for the love and charity you have shown me. I love you!

I will be staying as a Sister Training Leader in Bel Aire and will be training a new Sister Training Leader Sister Setoki! She is also from Hawaii ( I’ve been blessed with three companions now from the beautiful pacific islands! )and we will have a blast together. I’m so excited! I don’t know her very much but we will definitely have see miracles together why?! Because the Lord is with us! I love her already.

This week we I had a very sweet experience while sharing a message at a members home after dinner. We felt prompted to show the video Because Of Him. Before the video we invited them to think about what they have Because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This week was rough for me as the feelings and thoughts of inadequacy would not leave my mind. As the video began to play my heart was filled with peace. I began to think of our Savior and who He is to me. I became overwhelmed with the Spirit and could not hold back tears as I began to think of all the times in my life where He has given me peace. He is our Redeemer, Elder Brother, the Holy Messiah, the Savior of the World, and my best friend. I know Him, I know because of Him and I am here in this sacred heartland and can have daily peace from Him. This is divine peace not worldly peace. The Savior came to the earth to do the will of the Father, to lead us, to publish peace, and to save us. In Matthew chapter 21: 9 it says, ” And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. ” This is when Christ triumphantly come to Jerusalem. I found out that having Christ ride in on a donkey is a sign of Jewish Royalty and also a sign that he has come to publish peace. When Christ has come He has published peace and He will come again to publish peace. He is the Prince of Peace and how grateful am I for Him. I love Him, I know Him and He is our Divine Redeemer.

I would invite you all to ponder this question, ” When has Christ published Peace in your life and how has that changed you personally?”

Have a good week everyone!

58 | Families Can Be Together Forever

Hello what a wonderful and tiring week it has been! We had Zone Conference, two exchanges, a BAPTISM, and a week full of miracles.

Funny Story: we were sitting in sacrament meeting with T’Andra and her kids and Kaden one of her youngest sons wanted animal crackers but she wasn’t giving him any…. right when they began to pass the sacrament he said, ” Man that’s jacked up. That is jacked up” out loud in his what my mom would call an ” outside voice” laughing by still trying to be reverent I put my arm around him and said, ” were about to get some bread and water so it’s all good buddy. ” still upset about the animal crackers he put his head down and endured sacrament meeting. He did a great job! I LOVE KIDS!

Ramona Jarvis got baptized on Saturday and confirmed today. It was a beautiful baptism. The Spirit was tangible as Brother Cashman baptized his mother. ( in their pool! ) As we sang ” In the Garden ” ( Ramona’s favorite song ) was a testimony to me that Ramona had been prepared and that the Lord was so proud of her. She is now a new beautiful creature in Christ.

We had a family of seven come to church this week. What a miracle. It’s a mom and her six children. Her name is T’Andra and Sister Curran and Sister Bunker found her on exchanges on Friday. We went back Saturday morning and taught the Plan of Salvation to her and her children. It was great! They all came to church and stayed the whole time and LOVED IT! Sister Curran and I experienced a little bit of parenthood as we sat in sacrament with 6 children under the age of 10. It was wonderful. After church we went back and taught her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and she is on date for baptism for the 5th of August. Two of her children are baptismal age and we are teaching her and kids together.

We also are teaching a woman named Danetra. Sister Blake and I met her on exchanges this week. We knocked on her door and she let us right in, after we said we share a message about how families can be together forever. We sat down with her and began to share our message. She expressed how she wants her life to better and she wants to get right with God. We explained our purpose and the importance of following Christ in our lives. We went back Sunday evening and taught her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and she has accepted a Baptismal date of August 12th, and she is solid to come to church next week with her two children.

It was a privilege and a blessing to witness all these miracles the Lord performed right in front of our eyes. This week Sister Curran and I worked diligently, followed our plan to baptize, and listened to the Spirit. It was a great week!

Sister Curran and I taught many families this week and were able to testify that they will all be able to be together in the next life. This is one of God’s Greatest Gifts to us! Eternal Life. As I looked at these families and how special they are my heart was filled with love and happiness as I thought about our loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for us and that He sent his Son Jesus Christ so we may all have eternal life with them. I know the Plan of Happiness is real and true. God loves us and Christ’s Atonement makes Salvation possible. My heart is full of gratitude for this Gospel and I know it to be true. We all are children of a loving Father in Heaven who desires for us to live with Him again. Follow Jesus Christ, read the Book of Mormon and the Bible to know what God is inviting us to do, pray for clear direction and guidance so we may stay strong in this fallen world, and let the Lord guide your life.

2 Nephi 31:20: “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.”

Press Forward and look to the Lord he is anxiously reaching out to you.

Have a great week everyone!

57 | Glory to God on High

Hi everyone! I hope everyone has had a great week. This week was great! Here are a couple of wonderful things that happened!

Sister Garner and I had an AMAZING experience. We were street contacting and were prompted to knock on a door. A sweet woman named Debra answered. We expressed who we were and she didn’t seem to interested. THEN! She mentioned how she was a musician! So the Spirit whispered to me ” tell her about Hayden and his song he wrote for you ” so I did just that! I said, ” Debra my 14 year old brother is a musician and he wrote me song could I show it to you?” She let us right in! We played the song for her off of my iPad! The Spirit was present and it was amazing! We then found out she has been meeting with missionaries off and on for 5-6 years! Then she went back to playing the piano and she turned to 284 ” If you could Hie to Kolob ” and asked me to sing it for her haha! She is the best! Then we felt prompted to show her Alma 32! We read a couple of verses and she smiled and said, ” I would love to read that again” We left a Book of Mormon and that very chapter to read! We bore our testimony and going to see her next week! Thank you Hayden for your love for music and your talent. I love you!

A couple weeks ago Sister Curran met a woman named Lemetria on an exchange. Lemetria is a mom of four children and had a spiritual awakening and we had a lesson with her the day of! We taught the Doctrine of Christ ( Book of Mormon 3 Nephi 27 )

Then we invited her to church and she came! She also brought her two year old daughter Cherby! I colored with her during sacrament meeting so Lemetria could listen. I loved coloring with Cherby and now we are just buddies 🙂 I love kids! Lemetria stayed all three hours and learned a lot. Later that day we went back and had a powerful Restoration lesson. The Spirit was present and as we testified we were all taught by the Spirit. We invited her to follow her Savior’s example and be baptized. She is currently reading her Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true. We love her and Cherby!

Ramona Jarvis is doing so well! We love her to pieces! Last week her health was not doing so well. After lots of prayers with her and on her behalf she is feeling much better and came to church yesterday! Her and her son and his wife read the Book of Mormon every night. She is getting baptized on July 15th and she is so excited about it!

The Lord has truly blessed Sister Curran and I this week. He worked mighty miracles right in front of our eyes. What a blessing to be serving in the Kansas Wichita Mission. I love my Savior and my Father in Heaven so much. They live and love us! May we all recognize the precious blessings God has given us and love Him and our fellow men with all we have and give him great thanks! Have a good week everyone!

( so sister Curran has a fancy canon camera and loves taking pictures so we had lots of fun with it)

56 | 95 degrees and humidity at 8:00pm… Who knew?

Hello everyone! Happy ( belated ) Fathers Day to all the amazing fathers, future fathers, and father figures. I’m so grateful for my father and the love he has shown me and the council he has given me. I am especially grateful for our special relationship. One of the greatest things my dad and mom have done for me is that they have turned me to my Heavenly Father and my Savior. Thank you Mom and Dad. I love you so much! Also Kennedy’s birthday is tomorrow! She is turning three. So crazy! Happy Birthday sweet girl. I love you.

Funny Story: Sister Curran and I were driving down the street trying to find a house we have contacted before and a man was mowing his lawn and he looked Polynesian so Sister Curran looked at him and said, ” cousin?” Haha. So we turned back around and went to go talk to him. Long story short he is not Polynesian and he is gonna be meeting with the Spanish elders soon. HAHA I love being with Sister Curran. Bless her heart she’s gonna be with me for 5 more weeks hopefully more. Pray for her I’m a weirdo.

This week went by so quickly and was full of tender mercies and I would love to share some of those with you! And it was so hot. So so so hot. We are praying for those missionaries who don’t have cars with A/C. We are very grateful.

Last week I woke up with terrible lower back pain on my right side. I ignored for a while but then it got to the point where I couldn’t bend forward without being in pain. So I decided to go to the Chiropractor for the first time ( I was freaked out haha ). They took an X-ray of my back and my spine was curved to the left side haha! So they looked at me and said, ” well were gonna have to do some adjustments” After being moved around and hearing some freaky popping noises it felt a little better. They then told me my shoulder bag was not helping my back. After the appointment Sister Curran called our district leader seeing if they had any extra backpacks in their apartment.( she’s the best ) Then our new district leader said, ” woah this is crazy. I felt inspired to bring my old backpack to this area. So there we go! It’s yours. ” Sister Curran and I were like what… that’s crazy. I was so grateful for that tender mercy!

Sister Willoughby ( a sweet member in our ward ) bought us a pizza for dinner when we didn’t have anyone sign up. She is the sweetest lady. We love her so much! She does so much for the ward and the missionaries.

Earlier this week we went to teach Ramona a lesson and it was around 5pm. After the lesson Brother Cashman ( Ramona’s son) said, ” I’m gonna make my amazing chocolate chip cookies, would you like to learn how?” Of course we did! We were able to talk with the Cashmans and Ramona and get to know them better. It felt like being at home on a Sunday evening cooking with the family and just having fun. We love the Cashman family so much. They are wonderful members and have become family to Sister Curran and I!

All week it has been so hot and humid. Sister Curran and I have been walking quite a bit lately. It’s so funny to see all of the reactions we get when we people see us they say, ” what are you doing out in this heat?” ” y’all better get out of this heat” ” ooooohhhh you girls be brave to be out here” we love knocking on doors in this blazing heat for a two of reasons: 1. To feel a little bit of the A/C when they open their door. 2. To preach the gospel to everyone! ( that’s the best reason ) We were talking to a part member family outside and right before we left she said, ” let me give y’all some water bottles cause it’s so hot! ” we were so grateful! We ran out of water earlier that day! Another tender mercy! The Lord watches over us daily!

Another tender mercy!  After District Meeting the Myers ( they are a sweet couple apart of the office staff ) they offered all the missionaries lunch! They had leftovers from a lunch they did so we had nachos! This was a tender mercy because sister Curran and I made lunch but we were still hungry cause ya know haha. Sometimes chicken and broccoli doesn’t fill us up. We are so grateful to have a wonderful office staff. We love them. They do so much for the mission.

A member ( Sister Smith ) bought us groceries this week. She has been such a blessing. We are at her home every week for P- day. Thank you to Sister Smith! We love you!

Miracle Time!

While taking out the new missionaries Sister Bunker and I found Otiwaay! He is so cool! We decided to go knock on his door cause it was open! ( everyone in Kansas has storm doors… everyone does ) He was so nice. As we introduced the Book of Mormon  and invited him to church he got so excited! We got his contact information and we texted him a couple days ago and he is excited to learn more.

Another miracle that we saw this week was our lesson with Ramona. We taught her the word of wisdom. We had a fantastic lesson. Three members were there and we all talked about the blessings that we receive from living the commandments of God. She is now living the word of wisdom and gaining a testimony of it! We are so happy for her! She couldn’t come to church yesterday because she was sick. We went over after church and had another lesson with her. We felt prompted to go over the Baptismal Interview Questions, Ramona answered yes faithfully to all of them. She has committed to a date and is ready for it! She will be baptized by her son on July 15th. She is so happy and it has been a truly blessing to know her.

We had a lesson with Herman he is an African refugee from the Congo. We met him a couple weeks ago and finally had a lesson last night with Brother Ouko who is from Kenya and came with us to translate. The Spirit was so strong as we taught the Plan of Salvation. He is praying to know these things are true. We love teaching these people. Herman’s heart has been prepared for the Gospel and it is such a blessing to be with him as the Spirit teaches all of us.

One of my favorite scriptures is Mosiah 28:3 it says, ” Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble. ” Sharing the gospel is greatest act we can do here on earth. All of us are Heavenly Father’s children and some are lost. May we all look to those who might be lost and reach out and share the message that Christ lives and loves them. The Gospel has brought so much joy into our lives. Don’t keep it to yourself! Share it! People are looking for it. These past 13 months have been so hard and redeeming. I’m grateful for the purpose I have here to invite others to come unto Christ and that purpose will always be engraved in my heart forever and always. I know this Gospel is true. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer who loves us so much. We have Heavenly Father who blesses us with commandments that are for our benefit. We are never alone. The Gospel has been restored and we are living in times where the Gospel is in its fullness. What a blessed time to be alive. I have never been happier. I pray and would invite you all to look for the joy the Gospel has brought you and share it with others. You will bless their lives and they will bless your lives in return. I love this Gospel! I’m so excited for this week as Sister Curran and I will declare the gospel to everyone we see. I love you all! Have an incredible week.

55 | Hello!!!

This week was busy busy we had three exchanges and it’s was the week before transfers so it was crazy! But GUESS WHAT EVERYONE! SISTER CURRAN AND I ARE STAYING TOGETHER! We are so happy. Sister Curran is such a blessing to me, the Bel Aire area, and the mission! She is my best friend and I can’t express how happy and excited we are!

We met Coy So this week! Sister Brady and I were walking down a street just talking to everyone and there was a woman mowing her lawn! We walked up to her and gave her a picture of Jesus Christ. She expressed she was from Cambodia and that her husband had died 5 months ago. She looked so tired and it was very hot outside. I looked at her and said, ” here let us mow your lawn and you just rest for minute” we finished mowing her lawn and sister Brady talked to her more about the Gospel! Her husband was baptized years ago. We introduced the Book of Mormon and testified of the Plan of Salvation. We gave her a Book of Mormon in Cambodian and we have a return appointment with her tonight and we are so excited. She is the sweetest woman.

We had a Plan of Salvation Lesson with Ramona this week and it was amazing. Her son and his wife were there and we all bore of testimonies and it was great. She loves the Plan of Salvation and she came to church this week! Saturday night we called her and said a prayer with her! We love Ramona so much!

Have a good week everyone! Stay positive and remember you are LOVED!

54 | Again!

Hello! I hope everyone has had a good week! This week went by so fast it was crazy!

Tuesday night was so good! Joe Strouth entered into the waters of baptism. It was a great program and so many people came to support him! Even people from the ward he is moving into! The water was so cold ( because the hot water got turned off earlier that day… yikes! ) but he still had a great experience. We are so happy for him and excited to see him go to the temple next year.

This week we also had Mission Leadership Council and it was a great experience. We received lots of revelation for the mission. The Spirit was so strong. I feel so humbled to be apart of the Mission Leadership Council. We also go to attend the temple ( as a mission Leadership Council )  which was a great and redeeming experience. The Spirit was so strong and it was very peaceful to be in the Lords house. I loved the revelation that we received as an MLC for the Kansas Wichita Mission. The first 4 days of June have been incredible and enlightening. The Lord is excited for this month as the Kansas Wichita Mission will baptize 100 precious souls this month. We had a 24 hour fast as a mission to bind ourselves to the Lord and promise Him that for the next 30 days ( the rest of our missions ) we will be EXACTLY OBEDIENT and give everything we have! We are so excited! Hoorah for Israel!

So last week I had mentioned that a member of our ward wanted us to teach his mom and we had an appointment with her yesterday! Ramona is incredible! We were able to sit down get to know her, pray with her, do How to Begin Teaching, and teach the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Spirit was incredible. She has a huge desire to be baptized. She is on date for June 24th and we are going back to visit her next Sunday but we will contact her midweek and meet with her earlier hopefully. Next time we are going to talk about how they are requirements for baptism and commandments  that God is asking us to live. We look forward to that lesson. I can’t express how amazing that lesson was. One of the most powerful lessons I have had on my mission. The Lord loves her and she has seen and unseen forces around her helping her on this journey to becoming a new creature in Christ.

This week we went on one exchange and that was such a blessing. We felt promoted to bring both sisters up to our area and that was awesome! We split off and just worked so hard that day. We gave out at least 10-15 Books of Mormon and found so many new people to teach! We had great and powerful experiences all day long! It was so fun as we all talked to everyone we saw and testified of Jesus Christ. We got some harsh rejections but also some funny ones. Which was great! I will always remember those.

Yesterday while in Relief Society my heart was full of gratitude for my mission. I am so grateful to be here and being learning and seeing people’s lives change through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I would invite each and everyone of you to read 2 Nephi 31 to learn what the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how you can better live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is something I will also do this week! Have a great week everyone. I love you!

52 | Miracles

We had a busy week this week but a good one! Lots of miracles and trials of faith! Here are some of the miracles!

On Tuesday night we had a skype lesson with Joe! And we went over the baptismal questions and he surprised by telling us he wants to be baptized! We were in shock and tears. We were crying, Joe was crying, the Spirit was so strong. Then, on Thursday we had a lesson and he is having a trial of faith right now. We are keeping daily contact with him and praying he will come to a knowledge of his Redeemer once again like he has in the past. He is amazing and we know he will get through this.

On Saturday night we had dinner in a members home and another member from the Ridgepoint ward brought a referral! It was amazing. We had Brother Ouko there to translate. Her name is Marie and she is from Congo. We taught her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All the members bore her testimony and the Spirit was very strong. We can’t wait to meet with her again.

Last night we had dinner with the Sant family. After dinner sister sant took us to her neighbors house and we were able to introduce the Book of Mormon to Him and testify of eternal families. His wife died a couple months ago and it was a great lesson. We are seeing him tomorrow night and we are so excited.

It is such a blessing that these members are engaged in missionary work. We love the ward we are in and they are so fun! I’m so grateful to be here.

This week was draining and hard but so good! Many amazing moments that will not be forgotten. I love my mission and my Savior Jesus Christ. I’m grateful to know He is with me every step of the way. I would invite you all to let the Savior walk beside you in your life. He loves you and He is with you. John 14:18 says, ” I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

Have a good week everyone! I love you all 🙂

51 | Happy Mother’s Day

Blog for this week: Happy Mothers Day!

Hello! I’d just like to start off by saying THANK YOU to my amazing mother. Oh how I love you. It was incredible to see my family yesterday over the Skype call! Thank you mom for teaching me and being an example to me and helping me stay on the strait and narrow path. I’d also like to thank all of the mother figures in my life! I have many and you all have helped me so much. THANK YOU! Just remember you never know how much good you do.

Also huge shoutout to my amazing companion. SISTER CURRAN aka one of my best friends. She brings out the best in me and everyday is a great day with her. Oh how I love her so much. Sister Curran, if your reading this…. I love you! And then you’ll hear her say, ” ditto ” HAHA! I LOVE HER! 🌺💕

This week was good could have been better but was good! We had interviews with President McCuistion this week and we had MLC ( Mission Leadership Council ) so that was good! Sister Curran and I also had the opportunity to go on exchanges with Sister Hansen and Sister Nail! I was with Sister Nail again and that was so fun! I went to her area with her and we saw tons of miracles!

Here is one that saw, we had just knocked on a potential investigators door but they said they needed us to come back next week! So Sister Nail and I looked around and decided to knock the door right across the street. A lady opened the door and had a suspicious look on her face. After saying who we were and introducing the Book of Mormon she began to tell us we were wrong and how she would invite us to find the truth. We kindly ended the conversation and walked away. As we were leaving my heart was full of gratitude to know that Christ lives and that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it is a sacred companion to the Bible. It began to rain as we walked back to the car. We then saw a couple on their porch and we went and talked to them. As we got to know them and introduced ourselves we began talking about how we have a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior, Jesus Christ who love us very much. We introduced the Book of Mormon and they gladly accepted! We also invited them to follow the example of their Savior and be baptized when they come to know the truthfulness of these things! They said yes! YAY! What a miracle! I’m so excited for Sister Nail and Sister Hansen to keep working with them in Ridgepoint!

Joe came to church again this week! Yay! He has been to church quite a bit but has been struggling to receive his answer if the Book of Mormon is true. We are praying for him and praying that he will come to a knowledge that his Savior lives and that the Book of Mormon is true.

A lesson that I am in the processing of learning right now is the importance of relying on the Lord. Everyday I am being humbled and I am grateful for this sacred opportunity to be closer to my Heavenly Father and Savior daily. I would invite you to look for the daily ways and opportunities to come closer to your Savior and Heavenly Father. I love them. I know they live. I love my mission and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Have an amazing week everyone.

Ether 12:27 is my scripture for this week! It says, ” And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. “
