48 | Exchanges

I hope you all are doing good! This week was just crazy and good. Sister Curran and I went on three exchanges this week and I feel some weeks I barely see her. It’s so sad but it is a joyful reunion when we get back together.

A funny story for this week! On exchanges with Sister Marshall, we were at a dinner and a five – year old girl said, ” I gotta joke for you, what is black, white, and red all over?” I said, ” I don’t know! What?!” She looked at me with a big grin and said, ” a zebra in a blender” I looked at her and laughed quietly ( kind of scared ) while the parents were cracking up telling us they taught her that. What a proud parent moment.

Some miracles for this week:

We met another family from the Congo! They are amazing. There son has many questions and is very well acquainted with the Bible! His name is Jax. His family is so welcoming and listens to the message we share. We brought Brother Ouku with us. He speaks their language and was able to translate for us and answer a lot of their questions. It was such a blessing to have him with us.

Our investigator Joe came to church and had a good experience. We love teaching him and learning from him. He is progressing very well! Sister Curran and I and our zone leaders had the opportunity to sing at a Mission Presidents Devotional last night ( that’s where investigators, members, recent converts, anyone really! And recent converts share their testimony ) joe also came and loved it a lot! President McCuistion met joe and loves him! President will be coming with us to an appointment this Saturday! YAY!

This week was exhausting. But had great moments. I love my mission and I am very grateful for my Savior. Have a good week everyone.

Week 47 | Seeking and Finding

This week we found 18 new investigators. The Lord is with us and it is a wonderful feeling. One of those investigators names is Joe. Sister Nail and I found Joe while walking around. We stopped to ask him how to find a certain apartment and then the Spirit said, ” talk to him, he has been prepared” and boy was that statement the truth! As we talked to him he expressed he had met with missionaries in the past and had read the Book of Mormon. He has a strong desire to read it again and to find the truth. That night we taught him the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invited him to pray to know if the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

A couple days later we went back with fellowship to find he had been reading and studying topics on LDS.ORG! Oh my word. He is amazing. That night he addressed a lot of topics including the Plan of Salvation. We addressed his topics simply and by the Spirit. The fellowship was incredible and we are so grateful she was there! She is a recent convert herself. The next night we had a powerful church tour with him and he came to church the next day! It was a lot for him. He did enjoy it and expressed he wanted to go home after the three hours and ponder on it. We reached out to him later and he liked it a lot it was just a lot of people for him which is understandable! We will be seeing him this week and as the Spirit directs we will be inviting him to baptism! He is AMAZING!

Another miracle I would like to share is we met with the African family again last night! We were praying it would be a lesson full of the Spirit. We couldn’t get a fellowship that knew their language so Sister Curran and I went in their with the Spirit praying a miracle would happen according to Gods will. We began to teach Herman and his daughters from the Swahili pamphlets and it just wasn’t happening haha. Then we called brother ouku, who speaks Swahili and the whole lesson shifted! Although we didn’t understand what was being said the Spirit was so strong! We now have an appointment with that family and brother ouku for next week Thursday! Were so excited!

After we visited Herman and his family we knocked on another door and a couple of children answered and there mom came to the door and welcomed us right in. We quickly realized that they were also from Africa but they spoke French! We told them we teach people about Jesus Christ and we are going back to visit their family on Tuesday! We are so excited the Lord is with us everyone. What a blessing!

It was such an amazing opportunity to be here for this Easter season in Kansas. Sister Curran and I were walking around showing people the Prince of Peace video and testifying of Jesus Christ. That video brings so much peace and is such a blessing. I know my Savior Lives! Death has no victory, he has calmed my troubled soul, and he is our Savior and Redeemer. I love him. I would invite you all to watch the Prince of Peace video and think of your Savior Jesus Christ and what Peace he has given you throughout your life. I love you all! Jesus Christ is risen!

I love my mission and the Savior. I have never been happier! Have a great week everyone!

Hello everyone! This week was busy busy! Starting on Tuesday we had Missionary Leadership Council, two exchanges, a mini missionary, Zone Training, singing at a wedding and finding lots of people.

May I just say how much I love my companion sister Curran! She is the BEST! We laugh all the time and see tons of miracles. Being together is so a blessing from Heavenly Father!

We saw lots of great miracles this week here are some I would love to share with you:

We met a guy names Jabaloni and he was very open the first time as we showed him the Prince of Peace video. We then went back the next day and gave him the Book of Mormon and invited him to church! We invited to come at 10:30 so we could show him around first. It was Sunday morning and we realized that we did not have his number. We were praying and we left for the church. 10:30 came and Jabaloni wasn’t there. We were calling others we had invited and no one was picking up. We then went inside to talk to some members and the mini missionary that was with us looked outside and said, ” look he’s here!” We were completely shocked! As we walked outside we were all saying prayers of gratitude in our hearts. That was an outstanding miracle. The Lord has truly prepared Jabaloni! He stayed for all three hours and loved it and said he will come back this week!

Elder Gidney ( one of my Zone Leaders ) and I had the opportunity to sing ” Our Saviors Love ” at someone’s wedding in our ward. We walked noticed that some of her non member family was there! Her husband is also a non member. The Spirit was strong as we sang. Us and the zone leaders after the wedding went around and passed out prince of peace cards! We all got new investigators and it was amazing. We have return appointments with them this week.

Last night Sister Curran and I around 8:00pm were determined and worked with the Lord to find 3 more new investigators. We had a promise to the Lord we would 14 new investigators this week! We went to go visit a family in an apartment complex where African refugees stay. As we walked around we saw three men standing. We went up to them and talked to them for a while. They asked us how we became missionaries and who sent us to Kansas we explained the process simply and briefly. We also took the opportunity to share the Prince of Peace video. They loved that. Afterward we set up a return appointment and said goodbye. As we were walking around they came to us again and one of them Herman wanted us to come and meet his daughters! We said of course and his daughters were so sweet. We also showed them the video and taught them more about Jesus Christ! It was difficult to teach all of them because of the language barrier but we have some people in our ward who speak their language. Last night we found 6 new investigators. What a miracle! Herman and his daughters are committed to come to church next week and jack and his sons are committed to come as well! My heart is full of gratitude for our Savior and our Heavenly Father.

It was awesome to have a mini missionary this weekend! She is from another stake and has a desire to go on a mission. Gillian’s testimony was great. We hope and pray she had a great experience. She will be a great missionary. I remember going on my mini mission and it got me so pumped for this amazing experience I am having now. I love my mission and am so grateful for it. I love my Savior and know He lives! Have a good Easter on Sunday everyone!

44 | The New Easter Video

The Prince of Peace

Hello! This week flew by! I hope you all had an amazing week. We had interviews with President this week as well as Zone Conference. We had some crazy experiences this week but so fun! Let me share some with you!

This week we were walking down the street and saw a man in the distance and we waved and asked him if we could give him a card. He quickly walked up to us and when he was 6 feet away he pretended to pull a gun out and we got SO SCARED! We didn’t scream but we both paused and looked at each other. Once he starting laughing so did we but we were still terrified. He was the nicest man! His name is Teddy and is crazy! He told us a couple of stories that I could lived my whole life without knowing. But that’s okay! I will always remember him!

Also this week we found an amazing man! We went to go see a former investigator and instead found Day! He is a young father who loves God! He asked us for a bible and he desires to come closer to Christ! He was committed to coming to General Conference the Sunday morning session. A ride was set up and ready but long story short he couldn’t come. Then we prayed and prayed and went back for the afternoon session and another ride was set up and he couldn’t come. He has such a strong desire to come but couldn’t make it because of a family trial. He said that the devil was working against him. He has asked us to come over daily and read with him! We can’t wait to see him come closer to Christ!

The new Easter video came out this week! YAY! #PrinceofPeace! What an amazing video it is! Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He lived, died, and LIVED AGAIN. He is the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, a Friend of Friends, and is the Prince of Peace. How grateful I am for my Savior. I invite you all to watch this video and think about He peace the Savior has brought you in your lives then to share it with others! I know that as everyone watches this your hearts will be filled with the sweet peace the Gospel brings. Have a great week!

It is an incredible privilege to Preach The Gospel as a Representative of Jesus Christ.

Week 43 | Hello from the East – Side of Wichita

Now Sawyer, my little brother can finally say, ” TT is in Wa- cheeta!” I love you Sawyer! I hope and pray all of you had a wonderful week. This week has been one of the craziest weeks of my mission! Right now we are in a TRIO! So fun! Sister Greenwood has finished her mission and goes home on Tuesday 😦 We will miss her TONS! We all have laughed so much and have seen many miracles together. We are blessed to be serving in the Bel Aire ward! Some miracles from this week!

On Tuesday I had the opportunity of taking a new missionary out for a few hours her name is Sister Lomu. It was so fun. We were proselyting in what is now my area. We met so many awesome people! The first person we met was Jerry he was outside and we began talking about the Book of Mormon. We read the last two paragraphs of the introduction and we asked him what he would come to know. The last two paragraphs of the introduction say, ” We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (See Moroni 10:3–5.)

Those who gain this divine witness from the Holy Spirit will also come to know by the same power that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is His revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah.”

We will gain divine witnesses of Jesus Christ, his chosen prophets, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have gained this witness and it has changed my life and I know it can change yours. I love my mission and my life is so blessed by all the people I am meeting. Have a great week every.

Below are some of my friends from Maize which I will miss dearly.
